Akers, Stella Kitts

Stella Rose “Peggy” Akers, 86, of Dublin, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. Akers Sr.; daughter, Winifred Williams; parents, James A. and Louvenia Kitts; brothers, Charles and Lawrence; sisters, Nan, Margaret and Bonnie.

She is survived by her brother, Sam Ray Kitts; her children, Samuel Akers, Jr., Barbara Morris and Christopher Akers; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peggy was a devoted working mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, Va., 540-980-2600.
