Mary Sutphin Akers, 80, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Beulah House in Dublin. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Junior Akers, two brothers, Otha and Wendell Sutphin and son-in-law, Kenneth Epperly.

Carl and Mary were owners and operators of Meadow Creek Campground.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Danny Callahan of Pulaski and Judy Epperly of Radford; son Carl Wayne Akers of Radford, brother and sister-in-law Robert Marshall and Louise Sutphin of Christiansburg; five grandchildren Wendy Gilbert, Shane Callahan, Jason Callahan, Regina Wallace and Samantha Akers; four great granddaughters; brother-in-law and wife, Jim and Jean Akers; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Beth Sutherland FNP and the staff at Beulah House for their loving care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. Kenny Wurzburger officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Sand Cemetery in Indian Valley. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Beulah House, P. O. Box 478, Dublin, Virginia 24084.
