Akers, Marion Sue Gray

Marion Sue Gray Akers, 73, of Ivanhoe, Va. (formerly of Dublin, Va.), died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, in Wytheville, Va. She was born April 7, 1942, in Wythe County, Va., the daughter of the late Malcolm H. Gray Sr. and Loraine Gray.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Dean Akers.

Surviving are children and spouses Jonathan Williams and Traci, Victoria Gibson and Kevin, and Amber Bias and Derrick; sister Juanita Gale Buck; brother Malcolm H. Gray Jr.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Stevens Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be 1 p.m. Thursday until the service hour at the funeral home where the family will receive friends. In lieu of flowers, donations for final expenses are appreciated.
