Akers, Lovelynne Duncan
Lovelynne Duncan (Lovell) Akers, of Floyd, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012, is spending her 98th birthday in heaven. She was born August 7, 1914, to the late William Austin and Sabra Wade Duncan. She is preceded in death by her husband; Harless J. Akers, daughter and son-in-law; Loretta and Willie Altizer.
Lovell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Ruth D. Akers, of Roanoke; grandsons, Bruce and wife, Marylin Altizer, of Fairlawn, Larry and wife Linda Altizer, of Dublin, Mark and wife, Debbie Akers, of Torrance, Calif., Terence Akers, of Roanoke, granddaughter; Molly A. and Kenney Thomas, of Hardy. Several great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special niece, Phyllis Poff and nephew and wife, Russell and Bernice Akers.
Thanks to the nursing staff of B wing at Skyline Nursing and Rehab. for the care you gave Lovelynne. Special thanks to Pastor Roy Turpin for his visits and prayers over the years and to all others for their acts of love and kindness.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment to follow at the Lester Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the funeral home.
