Akers, Lindsey Nelson

Lindsey Nelson Akers, 54, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with the Lord, on May 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father, Thurman Akers.

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 33 years, Vicki Wheeling Akers; son, Shane Akers; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Adam White; mother, Edith Smith Akers; brother and sister-in-law, Toby and Carmen Akers; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Kinzer, Brenda Fisher, Gail and Darrell Custer; numerous uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many special friends.

He was employed by Tenneco (Federal-Mogul) for 35 years.

The family will receive friends on, Sunday, May 7, 2023, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, Va., from 2-3:00 PM, with a Funeral Service beginning at, 3:00 PM in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Shepherd, Rev. Lee Sarver, and Rev. Darrell Linkous officiating.
