Akers, Linatte Darlene

Linatte (Lynn) Darlene Akers, daughter of Eunice Akers Jones took her heavenly flight, Saturday evening November 04, 2023, to see Jesus and join her brother Larry Akers that left her on April 16, 2023.

Lynn is predeceased by her father Sidney Akers, brother Larry Akers, aunt Linda Caldwell Parelee, grandparents Jesse and Dorothy Sheppard and Ed and Rose Akers. She is survived by her mother, Eunice Akers Jones; brother and sister-in-law Gary Wayne Akers and Shirley Akers; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Akers; three nephews Sheldon Akers, Justin Akers, Nicholas Akers; one great-niece Sydney Akers, three great-nephews Connor Akers, Sawyer Akers, Little Bentley Akers, special uncle Aubrey Sheppard; several cousins and friends.

God put Lynn here as a special needs child. She melted the heart of everyone that met her. She was loved so much by her family.

We want to thank all the doctors and nurses for the special and loving care they gave her at the Johnson Memorial Hospital at Abington, Virginia.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 09, 2023, at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Steve Board and Pastor Darrell Linkous officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060 prior to the service.
