Akers, Golden Kenneth

Golden Kenneth (Kenny) Akers, 76, of Christiansburg and formerly of Floyd, left his earthly home on September 10, 2007 to be joined with his parents, Golden Davis and Mellie Duncan Akers; brother-in-law, Albert B. Conner; and nephews, Lee Conner and Davis Akers; in his new heavenly home.

Survivors include sisters and brother-in-law, Margie A. Conner, Dott A. and David Hale; brother and sister-in-law, W. Russell and Bernice Akers; aunt, Lovelynn Akers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at Lester Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Kenny will always be remembered with love and affection. We will be lost without him.
