Akers, Barbara Joyce

Barbara Joyce Akers, 88, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin. She was a member of Belspring United Methodist Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Harmon and Nannie Linkous Akers; brothers, Raymond and Pete Akers; and her stepmother, Mary Akers Alger.

Survivors include her sisters, Imogene (Dennis) Setliff, and Sylvia Farmer, all of Fairlawn; brothers, Willard Akers of Dublin, Robert (Lois) Akers of Dublin, Larry Akers of Pulaski, and Walter (Shelba) Akers of Draper; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barbara’s wish for cremation has been honored. Her life will be celebrated with a graveside service at a later date.

Barbara would be honored if donations in her memory were made to either Belspring UMC or to the Pulaski Humane Society.
