Akers, Alonzo Chester

Alonzo Chester Akers, 85, of Floyd, Va., passed away Saturday, August 11, 2007.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jason Jones; four grandchildren, Justin Cook, Karie Cook, Austin Funk, Landon Jones; great-grandchild, Kailey Cook; sister, Annie Mae Rotenizer; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Jacksonville Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, August 13, 2007 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
