Agnew, Ruby Wilma Underwood

Ruby Wilma Underwood Agnew, 89, of Floyd, Va., passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009. She was born on October 23, 1920, to the late Claude Swanson and Sally Hylton Underwood.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ward Agnew; grandchildren, Rhonda Lynn and Dan Agnew; two brothers, Tom Underwood and Gilbert Underwood; and two sisters, Ollie Thomas, Zella Compton.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Jeanette Agnew, of Floyd; granddaughter and husband, Gwen and Brent Hendrick, of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Julie Agnew Harris and husband, Adam, Jennifer Hendrick, and Kevin Hendrick; two great-great grandchildren, Tyler Harris and Elayna Harris; two sisters, Larma Harmon, of Martinsville, and Ava Wells, of Christiansburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. John Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home, where the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m.
