Adkins, Marvin N.

Marvin N. Adkins, 84, of Radford, went to meet his heavenly Father on August 4, 2007.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Doris Arnold Adkins, his parents Harry and Iva Adkins, a brother Roger and a sister, Colleen. Surviving are sons, Don and wife Becky of Christiansburg, Mike and wife Jackie of Dublin; two daughters, Patty and husband Tony of Snowville and Pam and husband Ron of Salem. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson in utero. He is also survived by three sisters, Elizabeth Hill, Doris Tolley and Faye Fisher.

Marvin retired from RAAP in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and the Korean War. A military graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Sunrise Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2002 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
