Adkins, Marlon Dwain

A son, father, brother, uncle, best friend, grandfather, and friend, Marlon “Marty” Dwain Adkins, 55, went home to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold E. Adkins and brother, Mark A. Adkins.

He loved cars, fishing, his dog, and his family. He was the life of the family and could always make you laugh and smile no matter what. He was humble, kind, caring and warm. He always said “I love you” first before saying bye. His body is gone but his spirit remains with us and in our hearts.

Left to celebrate his life are his mother, Barbara A. Adkins; sister, Lori L. Briggs; daughter, Kristal “Niki” Counts; son, Marty D. Adkins Jr.; stepson, Robby Weaver; son-in-law, Jason M. Counts; grandsons, Travyn Moore, Grayson Counts, Kaleb and Isaac Weaver; uncle, Ron Rood (Lisa) and their son, Adam; nephew, Brandon Adkins; and niece, Whitney Penland.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Timberlake Baptist Church, 21395 Timblerake Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502 with Pastor Richard Jett officiating.
