Adkins, Arvil Addie

Arvil Addie Adkins, 89, of Christiansburg, passed away May 7, 2011 at Wheatland Hills Retirement Home in Radford. He was the son of the late Addie Ora and Nina Lou Adkins. Mr. Adkins was also preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca East Adkins. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Wanda Ramsey and husband, Ken, Diane Nester and husband, Conrad, Michael Adkins and wife, Patricia, and Phyllis Underwood; grandchildren, Kevin Ramsey, Karen Kirkner, Benjamin Nester, Emily Bunn, Heather Adkins, Virginia Adkins, Kate Adkins, Olivia Underwood, and Zachary Underwood; and great-grandchildren, Tristan Nester, Rayelle Nester, Lyla Bunn and Parker Cates. Also surviving is his sister, Emma Homner. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2008 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
