Adams, Donald Ray

Donald Ray Adams, 69, of Riner, Va., passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015. He retired with 35 years of service to VDOT. After his retirement he worked with many consulting firms.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Adams; and his beloved grandmother, Mary Clowers Epperly. He will be dearly missed by his mother and stepfather, Lucy and Bill Corell; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rachel Adams; cherished granddaughters, Reagan and Rose; special friend, Karen Smith and their dog, Abby; siblings, Gary and wife, Linda Corell, Bruce Corell, and Jean Corell; nieces, Leigh Anne Stover and husband, Travis, Carly Corell, and Kristen Corell; and nephew, Mitchell Corell. He also leaves behind many friends he considered family, Phyllis Smith, Brenda Bower, Brian, Jennifer, Madison and Kenley Litton, Jason, Stephanie and Lyra Kirkner.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating.
