Abshire, Darlene Bentley

Darlene Bentley Abshire, 65, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Matthew and Ollie Mae East Bentley. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jackie Abshire; her children, Karen Bentley, Kathy Trump, Destiny Abshire, and Edward Lee Abshire Sr.; grandchildren, Misty, Edward, and Charlotte; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Roy and Nora Bentley, Shirley Dickerson, Brenda Bentley, Patsy and Charlie Stump, ruby Harrison and husband, Fred Stone; plus many special nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was a member of New Harvest Ministries. Darlene also loved to bowl and enjoyed sports and watching westerns. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Roy J. Bentley officiating.
