Eden, Shirley Gregory
Shirley Mae Eden, age 87 of Pulaski County, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Dublin, following a long life here on earth.
Shirley was a retired employee of Pulaski Furniture, where she worked until the age of 70. Over the years, she loved doing ceramics with her sister Lola and going out to eat and shopping. After her retirement, she and Lola loved going to Calfee Ball Park to watch baseball games. These sisters were so close that Shirley even accompanied Lola on her first date with her boyfriend, who later became her husband.
She loved walking up to Tom’s Drive Inn to eat dinner every night. She loved to go on family vacations with her daughters Denna and Maelynn and their children, Zach, Shelby, and Cody. She attended various sporting events and school events with all her grandchildren and was so very proud of the adults that they had become. Shirley played a huge role in helping raise her grandchildren by watching them as much as she could when they were small.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas Lee Gregory and Susan Elsie Gregory, and her brothers Harold Bruce Gregory, Marvin Lee Gregory, Douglas Wayne Gregory, Donald Dean Gregory, and Ronald Gene Gregory. One sister, and her best friend, Lola Ann Gregory Stout.
She was survived by her two daughters: Denna K. (Nathan) Eden-Gill and Maelynn Clark (Eddie) Farmer. Her grandchildren: Steven Zachary “Zach” Taylor, Shelby Mallery Sayers and Dakota Earl (Cody) Farmer. Great-granddaughter: Madelynn Michelle “Maddie” Taylor, and her dearly beloved cousins Ronnie and Sylvia Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was a great mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known as Granny to so many people who adored her. But most importantly she was a friend to everyone she met. Her family and friends will dearly miss her smiling face and kind heart.
