Wright, Carlos Gene

Carlos Gene Wright, 66, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at his home.

He was born in Mt. Airy, N.C. on March 17, 1940 to the late Pascal Warren and Bertha White Wright. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Carlos retired from the Calibration Laboratory at Alliant Tech Systems after 37 years. He was also founding and lifetime member of the Briar Patch Amateur Radio Club in Galax.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Lovern Carper Wright, of Christiansburg; stepdaughters, Michelle Carroll and husband, Patrick Carroll of Riner, Christina Songer and husband, Ronnie Songer, Jr. of Christiansburg; sister, Gay Dean Wright of Galax; grandchildren, Caleb Shaffer, Zachary Carroll, and Sydney Songer.

Special thanks to family, neighbors, and friends for their calls, cards, visits and help during his illness as well as Carilion Hospice Services of New River Valley.
