Wimmer, Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Wimmer, a life-long resident of Narrows, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Her husband, Allen Berkley Wimmer, a son, James Randall Wimmer and a granddaughter, Paula E. Wimmer, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert A. and C. Joan Wimmer, Cornelius, North Carolina, Thomas L. and Betty Jo Wimmer, Apex, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Wimmer, Rich Creek, Virginia; and her sister, Katherine Holdren, Narrows, Virginia. Among her ten surviving grandchildren are Christy Paschal, Mark and Melissa Wimmer, and Jason and Jennifer Wimmer, who spent much time with her in her final years. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Riffe’s Funeral Service, Inc., 600 Main Street, Narrows, Virginia. The family will receive visitors at Riffe’s Funeral Service on Monday March 3, 2008 from 5 until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at Riffe’s Tuesday March 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg, Virginia.
