Williams, Joyce Roop

Joyce Roop Williams, 70, of Christiansburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, March 9, 2006. She was born January 14, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlie E. and Francis Iddings Roop; two sisters, Ruby Willard, Oneada Roop and nephew, Pvt. Leon Willard.

Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of forty nine years, Robert E. (Bob) Williams, her loving and caring daughter and son-in-law, Sue and MSgt. Jeff Price, Lynchburg; three step grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty & J. D. Weeks, Oxford, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fred & Mary Frances Williams, Pulaski; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret & Dennis Brown, Mechanicsville, VA; brother-in-law, Raymond Willard, Christiansburg; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and ?Four Special Daughters?, Lisa Lafoon, Bobbie Williams, Barbara Simpson, and Martha Spencer.

Flowers are acceptable or contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 176, Christiansburg, VA 24068. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 10 at the Horne Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
