Wells, Bobby Lewis
Bobby Lewis (“Baboo”,”Pops”) Wells, 64, of Elliston, suddenly took hold of our Heavenly Father’s hand on Thursday, April 20, 2006.
Bobby was a charter member of Glenvar Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. He was well known and will be remembered for his love and collection of antique Chevrolet automobiles of which he was very proud. He had won many awards at local and distant car shows. He was a member of the Roanoke Valley Antique Automobile Club where he had served as director and treasurer. Bobby and his wife, Dottie thoroughly enjoyed the fun and excitement of showing his cars, especially the legendary “409” Impala.
“Pops” as he was known to family was a very positive, kind, big spirited, compassionate, giving individual with smiles for anyone that took notice. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to all who had the opportunity to know him. He valued life and its offerings and touched all our lives in so many ways. To known him was to love him.
He spent most of his time working on his cars, with his family or visiting job sites with his son Charles whom he worked with on various construction jobs in the area. He also spent time traveling the country to car shows, parts shows and activities related to his car hobby. Bobby was truly unique in many ways and in our minds, hearts and lives “Pops” will be greatly missed. We love you and miss you very much.
