Walker, Gerald H.

Gerald H. Walker, 70, 3360 Lake Ridge Rd., Pulaski, VA 24301, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at his home. Born in Mobile, Ala., he was the son of Mary Eldridge Walker, Mobile, and the late Walter O. Walker.

Gerald was employed by the U.S. Government and retired from the U.S. State Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0007, Pulaski.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, George Walker.

Survivors include wife, Stella Carter Walker of the home; mother, Mary Eldridge Walker; five brothers, Walter W. Walker, Carl Walker and wife Lilly, Oliver Walker and wife Cathy, Ronnie Walker and wife Pearl, Lewis Walker and wife Betty; three sisters, Mary Lamey and husband Arthur, Dorothy Lemme and husband David, and Sarah Duncan and husband Sonny.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Rodriguez Bluefield Funeral Home, 210 S. College Ave., Bluefield, Va., with Chaplain Thomas Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Va., where graveside rites will be conducted by Pocahontas American Legion Post No. 14 and VFW 9696, Bluefield, Va.

Friends may call today, Sept. 10, 2007, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Rodriguez Bluefield Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tracy, Albert and Michael Carter, Frank Farthing, James Sager II, and Tom Kitts.
