Underwood, Sr., Floyd Martin

Floyd Martin Underwood, Sr., 70, of Pulaski, Va. died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, in the New River Valley Medical Center. He was born in Pulaski County on Oct. 10, 1935 and was the son of the late Elias S. Underwood and Lucy Riddle Underwood. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Moore Underwood and by a sister and brother-in-law, Cassell and Mary Alderman.

Mr. Underwood was a retired employee of Inland Motors.

Surviving are: daughters, Stephanie Lane, Pulaski, Brenda Lawson, Pulaski; sons, Floyd M. Underwood, Jr., Pulaski, Wayne Douglas ?Willie? Underwood, Pulaski, John Underwood, Pulaski; sister, Arlie Gibbins, Pennsylvania; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann and Kenneth Cochran, Richmond; eight grandchild; six great-grandchildren; special friend, Ruby Kidd.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Allen Bouldin officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Wednesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
