Underwood, Raymond

Underwood, Raymond, 69, of Floyd, VA, slipped quietly into the arms of his waiting Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 30, 2010.

He was a member of Floyd Baptist Church, he was also an Honorary Member on the Christiansburg Fire Department and was also a retired car dealer. Raymond had a love for the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Eugene Burke. Surviving are his wife, Jackie; children, Mike and Connie Underwood and April and Jim Ketterer; his grandchildren, Luke, Madison, Myles and Marena; his father, Elmer O. Underwood and a brother, Winston. Raymond will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Floyd Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Womack officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, VA.
