Turner, Loretta Frazier

Loretta Frazier Turner, 79 of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at her home. Loretta was born on May 8, 1944, in Pearisburg and was a daughter of the late Josiah David Frazier and Gertrude Blankenship Frazier.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melinda Ann Turner and her son Emory Eugene Turner, 4 sisters, Genevieve Steger, Mildred Caldwell, Norma Gray Frazier, Patricia Martin and 2 brothers, Jerry David Frazier and Arnold Lee Frazier.

Loretta was a 1963 graduate of Giles High School. She was in food service for many years before going into healthcare as a CNA in the New River Valley. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a good Christian woman, attending several churches including Kellysville Church of God, Mountain View Ministries in Narrows and Bethel Chapel in Narrows. She enjoyed traveling and going on vacations with her husband and family. She will be remembered as an excellent cook and her macaroni will be especially missed. She also loved the company of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Emory H. “Jimmy” Turner of Narrows, her granddaughter, Courtney Johnson (Andrew Snider) of MD, 3 brothers, Roy E. “Buddy” Frazier of Mt. Airy, MD, Billy E. Frazier of Roanoke, Lacy E. Frazier of Roanoke, many nieces and nephews and her beloved furry companion, “Puddles.”

Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows at 2pm with Pastor Rick Green with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel 1 hour before the service from 1 – 2pm. The family would like to thank Medi Home Health & Hospice, her caregivers, Lisa Vaught, Bev Conley, Karen Galford, Liz Spicer, her niece, Kim Bray and her close friends.
