Thorne, Charles Mitchell

Charles Mitchell “Mitch” Thorne, 63 of Narrows died Sunday, February 26th, 2006 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born at Gallipolis, Ohio on February 23rd, 1943, he was the son of the late Rev. Charles W. and Mildred B. Thorne. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.

He is survived by one son and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle Thorne of Narrows; four brothers, Bob Thorne and Stanley Thorne, both of Lovern, West Virginia, Joe Thorne and David Thorne, both of Princeton; and one grandchild, the light of his life, Michaela Thorne of Narrows.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2nd, 2006 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. David Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiley Cemetery at Lovern, West Virginia. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
