THOMPSON, Mabel Snyder
Mabel Snyder Thompson, 84, a lifelong resident of her home in Belspring, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006.
She was retired as Postmaster at the Belspring Post Office and a member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Va. May Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erroll Walker Thompson and her sister, Mary Ann Akers Payne. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Brenda Thompson of Belspring, Michael E. Thompson of Troutville, and Larry W. and Charlene Thompson of Newport News; three grandchildren and their spouses, William D, Jr. and Gail Thompson, Christy and Donnie Beverly, and Matthew Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Kelli Thompson, Brady Thompson and Gatlin Beverly; two sisters-in-law and spouse, Kathleen and Frank Graham, and Mary Francis Webb; brother-in-law and his wife, George and Colleen Oakley; and special friends, David, Jenny and Niki Huddle, Juanita Likens and Jenny Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Belspring United Methodist Church with Rev. Frankie Graham officiating and with family words from Charlene Thompson. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. The Thompson family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
