Thompson, Faye Phillips

Faye Thompson, 80, of Christiansburg, Va, passed away peacefully at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Thursday, May 2, 2024. She was born on October 8, 1943 to the late Clinton Phillips and Evie Quesenberry Phillips. Besides her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Greg Hylton and his wife Becky Hylton, Tony Hylton, Monty Thompson and wife Lou Ann Thompson, Tami Koury and her husband Ernie Koury; grandchildren, Parker Ellis, Ern Koury, Ellie Thompson, Lauren Koury, Elizabeth Koury; siblings, Johnny Phillips and wife Barbara Phillips, Lee Phillips Kromer, and Mardell Philips.

Faye worked at First National Bank as a bank teller as well as Holiday Datsun as a title clerk.

Faye was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and crafting items for all her family, especially her grandchildren. Among her greatest talents was the ability to make people laugh and smile. She was always quick to compliment anyone and had a giving heart. An adventurous spirit and a beautiful person inside and outside are just some of the ways to explain who Faye was. Beyond her talents and achievements, Faye will be remembered for the unwavering love and care she provided to her parents. Her dedication to family extended to her role as a loving mother and grandmother. The children in her life affectionately called her the best grandma ever—a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Debbie Vaught and Tammy Crockett who helped through the difficult times and who always shared love and laughter with Faye.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 1-2 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brandon Craig officiating. The final resting place will be at Thompson Cemetery, Floyd, Virginia.
