Helen “Big Momma” Louise Abell Taylor, age 81 formerly of Prince Avenue, Pulaski went to be with her heavenly father Sunday, December 3, 2006. She died peacefully at the Pulaski Healthcare Center Nursing Home from complications of a stroke.

Born January 29, 1925 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late C.C. Abell and Minnie Yates Abell. She was raised in Pulaski where she met her former and now deceased husband, James Franklin Taylor. They were married for 23 years and had two sons. She was also preceded in death by her older son, Kenneth Franklin Taylor; Sisters, Ruby Garlic, Blanche Hill, Evelyn Semones, Frances Abell and; Brothers, Arnold Abell and Ralph Abell.

She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pulaski where she had many church family members she cherished. She held a special place in her heart for all she knew and loved. To her son, Jerry Taylor, Helen stated before she went to be with the Lord, “You will be okay, your tough because, remember, that’s how I taught you to be. I Love you son and I’m very proud of you.”

The family would like to thank all the wonderful, caring and respectful team at the Pulaski T.C.U. and Long Term Care. Tammy and Jerry are especially very appreciative for all the little things the team would do for us and his mother. God Bless you all. Special Thanks go to Pat and Sandra from the T.C. U. department for all of the “Hey Meanness” as we walked through the door. You gave us smiles and strength to keep us going.

Surviving are her Son and Daughter-in-law Jerry Cleveland Taylor and wife, Tammy C. Taylor – Dublin, Grandson Jerry Keith Taylor and wife, Sherry Taylor – Pulaski, One Great Grandchild Jaden McKayla Taylor – Pulaski, Sister Grace Thornton – N.C. Brother Elmer Abell – Pulaski, and Several Nieces and Nephews

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 2:00 P.M. at Bower Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Judy Yonce and Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd. Pulaski
