Surratt, Robert Henry

Robert Henry Surratt, 88, of Pulaski, died Sunday morning January 8, 2006 at his residence. Born February 2, 1917 in Dant, Va., he was the son of the late Susan Page Surratt and John Surratt. Mr. Surratt was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Surratt; one brother and two sisters.

He was member of the Newbern Church of God, and worked for Pulaski Furniture Corporation for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Gallimore Surratt; one son, Robert Ray Surratt and his wife Brenda of Dublin; one daughter, Martha Surratt Hodge and her husband Archie of Roanoke; a special brother-in-law and caregiver, Curtis Stoots of Pulaski; one granddaughter, Leigh-Anne Hall of Dublin; two grandsons, Derek Surratt of Roanoke, and Jason Hodge of Roanoke; one greatgranddaughter. Also survived by special friends, Doris and Jerry Jones.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Newbern Church of God with the Rev. Clayton Quesenberry, the Rev. Danny McGlothlin, and the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visiting will be anytime after 3 p.m. Monday at Seagle Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
