SUMNER, David Troy
David Troy Sumner, 68, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2006.
He was a member of Camp Bethel United Methodist Church, Floyd Lodge #202, I.O.O.F. and a graduate of Floyd High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a devoted husband, father and stepfather. His memory lives on in the hearts of many, his wife, relatives and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Faye D. Sumner, Floyd; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Brandon Bradley, Bedford; grandson, Ethan Lee Bradley, Bedford; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Jack Barrett, Manassas; loving stepsons, Steven W. Lawson, Maidens, Va., Joel D. Lawson, Riner; spiritual children, Edward, Michelle, Misty and Joshua Fletcher; nieces, Lindsay Baily, Lydia Geib; nephew, Jeb Barrett.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joshua Kilbourne officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery with Military Honors by Floyd VFW Post #7854 and American Legion Post #127. Friends may call at Mayberry Funeral Home after noon Friday where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. with services at 7 p.m. by Floyd Lodge #202 I.O.O.F.
