Jackie Lee Spicer, 84, of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023, at his home. Jackie was born on August 1, 1938, in Pearisburg, Va, and was a son of the late James William Spicer and Ida Mae Keffer Spicer.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Betty Gene Dalton and 3 brothers, Buddy R. Spicer, Richard “Dickie” Spicer, Danny H. Spicer and his best friend, Eugene Spicer.

Jackie grew up in Narrows as one of the “Hungry Hollow Boys.” He married the love of his life, Connie in 1959, who stood by his side, for better or worse. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the Radford Arsenal for over 30 years. He dearly loved spending time with his friends, family and loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his furry friend, Trixie, with all his heart. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved listening to Pastor Franklin Atkins on Sunday mornings.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Connie M. Spicer of Narrows, 3 children, Timmy Spicer (Tammy) of Narrows, Randy Spicer (Liz) of Narrows, Diane Spicer Happel (Rick) of Wytheville, 7 grandchildren, Derrick, Ashley, Amanda, Daitra, Danielle, Joshua, Nathanael, 11 great grandchildren, Aiden, Ava, Asher, Axton, Addy B., Avery, Evey, Liam, Thea, Declan, Daelyn and 1 sister, Linda A. Hughes of Narrows.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 16, 2023, at 2pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in with the Rev. Franklin Atkins officiating with burial following in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 hours before the service from 12 – 2pm.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Brackenrich and Medi Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care.
