Spence, Fannie Absher

Fannie Absher Spence, age 82, of Blacksburg died Friday, December 1, 2006 at her home. She was born in Montgomery County, Va on September 25, 1924 to the late William and Dallas Cook Absher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit David Spence and a son, Gary Kermit Spence.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Marvin Bland of Blacksburg, Dreama and Stuart Pratt of Rural Retreat; daughter-in-law, Barbara King Spence of Christiansburg; brother, William (Bill) Absher; seven grandchildren, Tim Pratt, Todd Pratt, James Pratt, Stephen Pratt, Melinda Bland, Debra Lewis, Michael Bland; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 4 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rador Vaden, the Rev. Bill St. Clair and the Rev. Tom Rice officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Whitlock Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
