Sparks, Daniel Ralph

Daniel “Danny” Ralph Sparks, 74, of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Danny was born on November 5, 1949, in Narrows, VA, and was a son of the late Claude Sutherland Sparks and Imogene Conley Sparks. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leonard Sparks and Ronald Sparks and 1 sister-in-law, Debbie Sparks.

Danny was a 1968 graduate of Narrows High School. He was a retired pipefitter. In his younger days, he was a really good baseball player. He enjoyed playing in softball tournaments and competing in arm wrestling. In his later years, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, working puzzles and watching westerns. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids more than anything.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ford Sparks of Narrows, 3 sons, Joshua D. Sparks (Hannah Spicer) of Narrows, Andrew C. Sparks (Adrian) of Rich Creek, Daniel D. Sparks of Suffolk, 1 brother Rick Sparks of Roanoke, 4 sisters, Gayle Miller (Albert) of Rocky Gap, Drema Tolley (Joe) of Narrows, Debbie Sikole (David) of Narrows, Della Raines of Christiansburg and 6 grandchildren, Cole Sparks, Scarlett Foley, Harper Foley, Silas Sparks, Ruby Sparks and Dandelion Sparks and special cousin, Roscoe “Boy” Sparks of Narrows.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 12pm at The King’s Way Pentecostal Holiness Church (Wolf Creek), Narrows, with Gary Hazelwood officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 11 – 12pm.
