Smith, Hazel Chrisley

Hazel Chrisley Smith, 90, of Richfield Retirement Community, Salem, formerly of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem.

She was born June 8, 1916 in Wythe County and was the daughter of the late Nancy Florence and Charles Newell Chrisley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Herman Smith; two brothers, Roy and Clarence Chrisley; and by one sister, Nellie Gregory.

She was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Pulaski. She retired from Jefferson Mills and later worked at Pulaski Drugs. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Gideons Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Regnier, Salem, Charlotte and Ronnie Alexander, Christiansburg; four grandchildren and spouses, Sonya and Rick Aultice, Lynchburg, Heidi and Dan Mowry, Salem, Brian and Rena Alexander, Christiansburg, Kevin and Bethany Alexander, Christiansburg; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary Dylan and Alec Daniel Mowry, Salem, Joshua Allan Aultice, Lynchburg, Avery Dale, Adisson Elyse, Aiden Peyton and Atlee Reece Alexander, Christiansburg; three sisters-in-law, Lois Smith, Pulaski, Virginia Chrisley, Dublin, Ann Chrisley of Elkin, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. from Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Pulaski with the Rev. John Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Thursday evening from Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
