Sisson, Kathleen Cooper

Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Annette Cooper Sisson, 76, of Shawsville, Va, passed away on November 6, 2023. She was born on March 13, 1947 in Maryland to the late Carmel Flynn Cooper and William Cooper, Jr. Beside her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Carmel Mary (Bub) Hagen.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Sisson and John Stoner; daughter, Deborah Sisson Owen and husband Terry M. Owen; grandchildren, Samantha Solomon McClure and Justin McClure, Abigail R. Owen, Ava M. Owen, and Logan M. Owen; great-grandchildren, Daniel T. McClure, William (Liam) A. McClure; nephew, Matt Cooper; great-nephew, Zach Cooper; nieces, Jennifer and Jermery Easter, Amy Steir, and Audrey Moore.

Kathy drove a school bus in Shawsville and then worked at White Creek Market as a manager and then later as a long time secretary at Sisson and Ryan Quarry. Kathy will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2pm at Crockett Springs United Methodist Church located at 2780 Crockett Springs Road, Shawsville Va 24162. Internment will follow to Piedmont Cemetery.
