amem_fishing-river.jpgWilliam Payne (Bill) Sexton, 74, of Crickett Lane in Pearisburg, died Tuesday morning November 28, 2006 in Montgomery Regional Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Born in Giles County on September 3, 1932, he was a son of the late William S. and Thelma Troutt Sexton. Bill was retired from National Gypsum County Goldbond Plant with 33 years of service and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and playing baseball and was a Richard Petty racing fan.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lesley and Verlie Sexton. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Scott Sexton; two daughters, Kaye and husband Rick Camacho of Radford and Debbie Smith of Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Frankie and Janet Sexton of Pearisburg; seven grandchildren, Timmy Smith, Neil Smith, Miranda Quesenberry, Summer Smith, Garrett Smith, April Nicholson, Tiffany Sexton; seven great-grandchildren, Coy Smith, Sheree Smith, Cayden Murphy, Andrew Smith, Zachary Camacho, Timmy Quesenberry, Chelsea Quesenberry; two brothers, Robert (Bob) and wife Eunice Sexton of Newport, Ray and wife Patricia Sexton of Narrows; a sister, Virginia Parsons of Pearisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
