Dorothy Mae Sexton, 71, of Cricket Lane in Pearisburg, departed this life Thursday morning, April 26, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born at Goodwin’s Ferry in Giles County on April 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Atlas B. and Ollie M. Comer Scott.

She was retired from Jefferson Apartments in Blacksburg since 1996. She was a wonderful cook (no one ever left hungry), the Yard Sale Queen of the area, her flowers that she loved flourished with her green thumb, and she loved spending summers at Scott’s Bottom camping.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, William P. Sexton; brothers, James and Alvie (Buddy) Scott; and sister, Edith Scott Fleeman. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kay Camacho and her husband Rick of Fairlawn, Frankie Sexton and his wife Janet of Pearisburg, Debbie Smith of Christiansburg; her grandchildren, Tim Smith, Neil Smith, Miranda Quesenberry and husband Jay, Summer Smith, Garrett Smith, April Nicholson and husband Reid, Tiffany Sexton, Christy Camacho, David Camacho and wife Dawn; great-grandchildren Coy Smith, Sheree Smith, Cayden Murphy, Andrew Smith, Zachary Camacho; her brothers and sisters, JW Scott of Lynchburg, Billy (Nancy) Scott of Lynchburg, Irene McCoy of Blacksburg, Denny (Tammy) Scott of Ironto, Bobby (Barbara) Scott of Blacksburg, Marie Hubbard of Michigan, Roy Scott of Pearisburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Eunice Sexton of Newport, Ray and Patricia Sexton of Narrows, Virginia Parsons of Pearisburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
