Roop, Lisa McDaniel

Lisa Ellen McDaniel Roop, born November 26, 1962, passed from this life on September 6, 2006, in an automobile accident. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen Douglas and Mark Douglas McDaniel.

Lisa was a loving mother who encouraged her son, Aaron, through the trials of growing into adulthood and provided much joy to her parents and family throughout her life.

Lisa had a special affection for her kittens and cats. She was also talented in making beautiful flower arrangements and wreaths, crocheting and knitting, and growing flowers.

Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Roop and Elizabeth Turpin-Roop; parents, Linda Ellen (Hash) and Grover Douglas McDaniel; grandmother, Lorraine Hash; sister-in-law, Angela McDaniel; nephew, Ethan McDaniel; special friend, Jeffrey Bowman; many aunts and uncles including Susie Miller, Yonna and Donald Graham, Lynne and Fred Paris, Larry and Gloria Hash, Mary Alice and Buck Whisenant, Carol and Ted Hodge, Becky and Peter Zandvliet, and Bobby and Teresa Hash; and many cousins, great-aunts, and great-uncles.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Dublin Presbyterian Church in Dublin with the Rev. Susan Crye officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family will be gathering at Lorraine Hash’s home in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the S.P.C.A. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Va.
