Reymore, Roberta Ward
Roberta (Bobbie) Ward Reymore with her loving family and friends nearby passed away on September 28, 2023 to be with her Lord and Savior. Bobbie was born in San Diego, CA. At an early age she moved to Newport, RI with her military family.
In 1950 she graduated Salutatorian from St. Catherine’ s Academy in Newport. After graduation Bobbie worked as a law secretary. Later she and her mother, Florence L. Ward moved to West Haven, CT, home of her maternal grandparents.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her mother Florence, her maternal grandparents, Victor and Anne Siebold and her beloved Godfather Joseph Radice, ex-police chief of Newport.
Bobbie is survived by her loving and adoring husband of 63 years Harold E. Reymore, Jr., her daughter Gena R. Simmons, her son-in-law Steve Simmons, her Granddaughter Emily S. Buening, her grandson-in-law Brett Buening, her daughter Tracy R. Black, her son-in-law Barry Black and her Granddaughter Ivey Black.
Bobbie worked at the Yale University’s Law School Library from 1952 until 1962. She met her husband Harold while working at Yale. Harold was attending Yale’s Institute of Far Eastern Languages at the time. Bobbie and Harold married in 1960. After marriage, they lived in West Haven, CT then moved to Wallingford, CT.
Bobbie spent her working years raising their two daughters Gena and Tracy while working part time in the Wallingford school system. Harold’s jobs took them to many parts of the U.S. and Europe. They moved from Wallingford to Richmond, VA in 1978. While Gena and Tracy were attending Virginia Tech, Bobbie and Harold moved to the Netherlands, then to Switzerland, then to Denver, CO, then to Lake Jackson, TX, then to Columbus, OH and finally they retired in Christiansburg, VA. in 1993.
Bobbie was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, 1740 Tyler Road, Christiansburg, VA where a mass will be held on October 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm to celebrate Bobbie’s life. Inurnment will follow in St. Jude’s Columbarium.
Bobbie was truly an angel on earth, we’re going to miss her tremendously!
