Rector, Charmaine Paisley
Charmaine Faye Rector, 103, of Radford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She passed into her everlasting life, peacefully at home, under the loving care of her daughters.
Charmaine loved her church, Fairlawn Grace Brethren, where she worshipped for over 60 years. She lived a simple life of service working and doing for others. She became involved with making blankets for the Operation Linus Project, filling numerous hours edging well over 500 blankets to be given to children in the hospital. That was a blessing to her, as well as the children.
Charmaine was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Rector; parents, William Mastin and Laura Carner Paisley; and her daughter, Thelma Jean Halsey.
Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Shelton (Ken), Linda Hypes, Hilda Farmer (John) and Wanda Thomas; son, Jerry Rector; grandchildren, Trina Burton, Cindy Newby (Ken), Nita Criner (Russ), Brian Shelton, Keith Roberts (Amy), Lisa Marshall (Keith) and Lori Duncan; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Paisley (Louise); and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Roy Glass, III officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
The family would like to thank Pastor Roy for traveling from Ohio to officiate the service, Dr. Judy and Hospice for their help and guidance with Mom’s care. During her journey home, we were told several times that she was a strong woman and that is how we remember our mom, strong and faithful to the end. She is loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The Rector family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com

Your sweet Mom was so special
So sorry for your loss. She made at least 2 blankets for my family. I wanted to attend the service, but I was not feeling well.
