Price, David George

David George Price, 63, of Radford, died Friday, November 17, 2006 at New River Valley Medical Center.

He was born in Blacksburg, Va. on June 16, 1943 to the late Herman Edward and Ora Smith Price and was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward (Gene) Price.

David retired from Bell Atlantic with thirty-one years of service and had also worked with US Cellular. He was an avid golfer and was a blue grass music musician.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy A. Price of Radford; one daughter and son-in-law, Dania and Kirk Ayers of Christiansburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Peggy Price of Blacksburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Jim Noonkester of Prices Fork, and Mabel and Archie Montgomery of Blacksburg; one stepson, Sam Overstreet of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Wesley Ayers, Jacob Price, Hannah Price, and Sadie Price; two stepgrandchildren, Gavin Overstreet and Michael Overstreet; and his best friend, Chuck Shorter and his wife, Joan.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price and Pastor Paul Hinlicky officiating. Interment will follow in the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, c/o Donna Miller, 5201 Long Shop Road, Blacksburg, Va. 24060. Friends may call any time after 12 noon Sunday and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW., Blacksburg.
