Roger Allen Perdue, 58, of Pearisburg, went home to be with the Lord aboard LifeGuard 10 early Saturday morning, May 13th, 2006, en route to at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Mercer County, West Virginia on April 12th, 1948 and was the son of Mrs. Thelma Melvin of Narrows and the late Irvin Gooch Perdue.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Vietnam conflict era. He was a loyal and dedicated servant of Jesus Christ, serving at the Church of Christ at Glen Lyn where he was a deacon and an elder. He continued his service at the Newbern Community Church in Newbern, Virginia, where he was a current member. He was particularly gifted in dry wall and was a licensed contractor in Virginia and West Virginia. He was a loving husband, father, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of forty years, Alice Hall Perdue; two daughters and their husbands, Melissa and Ronnie Conley of Narrows, Shandra and Brian Stanley of Pulaski; five grandchildren: Shaina and Tyler Conley both of Narrows, Brenna, Noah, and Nathaniel Stanley, all of Pulaski; two brothers, Grant Perdue of Bozoo, West Virginia, and Randall and wife Bobbie Perdue of Narrows; two sisters and their husbands, Oneeda and C.F. Perdue and Barbara and Claude Weatherly, both of Narrows; two special nephews Claude, Jr. and Danny Weatherly both of Narrows.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 16th, 2006, at 11 AM at the Church of Christ at Glen Lyn with Jim Mullins, Minister, officiating. Burial will follow at the Hall Family Cemetery, Princeton, West Virginia with graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 68 of Narrows, VFW Post 600 of Narrows and American Legion Post 311 of Pembroke. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service, in Narrows, Monday from 6:00 ? 9:00 PM.
