Parks, Ralph Coy, Sr.

Ralph Coy Parks, Sr., 69, of 4543 Lakeland Road, Dublin, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2006. Born March 8, 1937 in Carroll County, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Parks and Sena Rose Hash Parks.

He attended the Newbern United Methodist Church. Mr. Parks was retired from Kern’s Bakery with 37 ? years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine “Kitty” Parks, Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Coy Parks, Jr. and Amy Parks, Fayetteville, N.C., Ricky and Edna Parks, Wytheville; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Randy Lewis, Rural Retreat; stepdaughters, Melanie and Ray Goins, Roanoke, Rebecca Pinion and fianc?, Donald Seay, Roanoke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Doris Parks, Atkins, Curtis and Eleanor Parks, Crockett, Joe and Patsy Parks, Galax; sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Harold Minor, Dickson, Tenn.; brothers-in-law, Billy L. Booth, Salem, Jack Booth, Roanoke; sister-in-law, Judy and Robert Newman, Salem; special friends, Sidney and Eleanor Coulson, Dublin; eight grandchildren, Grizzly, Cody, Melissa, Cory, Misty, Johnny, Alan, and Adam; five great-grandchildren; aunt, Ruth Etter, Wytheville; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 10 a.m. from the Newbern United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Schoeneman officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at the Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Va. 24153. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials in his memory may be sent in care of the Newbern United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 5102 Cypress Avenue, Dublin, Va. 24084.
