Page, Betty Ratliff

On October 3, 2023, Betty Joyce Ratliff Page of Christiansburg went to her Heavenly home. She was born in Cambria, VA and attended Christiansburg High School and was a lifelong Baptist, belonging to Cambria Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, C. Frank Page, Jr.; her parents, John Benjamin Ratliff, Sr. and P:earl Cox Ratliff; her brother, John Benjamin Ratliff, Jr.; one nephew, Stanley Michael Ratliff. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sarah Martha Page Sykes; nephew, John Stephen Ratliff and wife Joan; niece, Susan Ratliff Kilby and their families; great-nephew and his wife Derek and Jamie Page and their children, London and Boston Page.

She was a charter member of Animal Hope Alliance, a local pet group that dedicates itself to help animals that have been abandoned and need immediate care. She had many pets of her own from childhood until last year. The last one being Wrigley the Hospice Dog who visited weekly.

During her time at Main Street Baptist Church when her dad moved the family from Cambria to Christiansburg she taught in the church nursery school. Betty also taught Sunday school for 32 years. When the church moved she returned to Cambria Baptist Church.

Graveside Services will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11 a.m., with Dr. Keith Crowgey, Nathaniel L. Bishop, and Robin Angle will officiate. The family will have private time from 10-10:30 and if you wish to go in procession please be in the parking lot at Horne Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m.
