Ogle, Emerson Estel Earl

ogle_emersen_estelEmerson Estel Earl Ogle, of Christiansburg, Va. went to be with the Lord Friday, July 16, 2010. He was born the son of Estel and Dollie Ogle in Hillsville Virginia on March 31, 1924. He was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Karen. Also preceding him were his parents, Estel and Dollie Ogle, sister, Katharine Kempson, and brother, Milton Ogle. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Betty Jo Ogle. Also surviving are his son, John Ogle and wife, Patt; daughter, Becky Brammer and husband, George; son, Joseph Ogle and wife, Betsy. Surviving siblings include sister, Gladys Ogle, sister, Helen Ashley and husband Roy, sister, Mary Bremier, brother, James Ogle and wife, Emily. Grandchilden are Brian and Curtis Ogle, Matthew and Amanda Brammer, and Benjamin Ogle. Estel proudly and honorably served his country in Europe during World War II with the Army’s Anti-Aircraft Weapons Battalion. He worked for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant and retired after 36 years of service in both Quality and Process Engineering. Estel will be remembered as humble, honest, and hard working but most of all as a loving family man with a heart of gold. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at The Horne Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday July 21, 2010 in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Aaron Smith officiating.
