Hazel Keffer Mustard, 83, of the Bearsprings Community of Trigg, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was born November 9, 1937 in White Gate, Virginia, the daughter of the late Christopher & Mae Whittaker Keffer.

Hazel was an active member of Riverview Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping prepare their annual Wild Game Suppers. She spent many years helping with Relay for Life activities. She hand-quilted many quilts that she enjoyed sharing with her family. She enjoyed her five pet donkeys which she spoiled with treats. She especially liked hummingbirds and enjoyed feeding them.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Paul, James, Junior and Mitchell Keffer and her sisters, Irene Keffer, Ruby Saunders and Edna Riggs.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 61 years, Basil Mustard; her brother-in-law, Jimmie Mustard; her sister-in-law, Judy Mustard; a special friend, Christy Cumbee; a special niece, Deborah Vest and a special great-niece, Barbara (“Pixie”) Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Mike Mitchener and Pastor Terry Easter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamblin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until service time, 1:00 P.M.
