Mount, Dennis Melvin

Dennis Melvin “Denny” Mount, a loving husband, treasured Pawpaw, and friend to many, passed away on May 30th, 2024, at UVA Hospital. Born on December 27th, 1949 to his mother and father Victor & Annabell Mount, Denny’s life was one marked by dedication, service, and the will to do anything for anyone he loved.

Denny grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida and moved to Virginia at the age of 15 where he went to Christiansburg High School. He proudly served in the United States Army. In 1970, Denny married his beloved wife, Judy Barnett Mount, and together, they raised their daughter, Denise Mount Musselman.

Denny was a devoted husband, father, and pawpaw. His family was the cornerstone of his life. He loved hunting, fishing, and doing things with his family. I have been trying to find the words to use for my pawpaw. He was honestly one of a kind. He was everyone’s pawpaw. He would give anyone anything and teach anyone what they wanted to know. The memories we all have with him will be cherished forever.

Denny is preceded in death by his parents Victor & Annabell Mount and his daughter Denise Mount Musselman.

Denny is survived by his wife Judy Mount, Granddaughter: Mackenzie Mount and her fiance Duane Harvey, Grandson: Brady Musselman, Great Grandchildren: Greyson Russ, River Russ, & Wrenley Harvey.

Services will be held at Horne Funeral Home on Monday June 3rd. Visitation is at 3:00pm and the Service will be at 4:00pm. Thanks to Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church for providing a meal after the service.
