Mills, Clarence Edward

Clarence Edward Mills, 79, of Palasades Drive in Eggleston, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 4, 2006 from Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg.

Born in Williamson, West Virginia on April 8, 1926, he was a son of the late Levi Oliver and Beulah Mae Long Mills. He was a graduate of Eggleston High School in 1942; was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows after fifty years of service; had delivered the mail on a rural route; was an accomplished photographer; loved playing his guitar that he and a friend had constructed together; and was a proud member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Lawrence Mills.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Herma Jean Vaught Mills; two daughters, Patricia Jean Johnston of Eggleston and Daina Aistrop of Eggleston; a son, Alan L. Mills of Eggleston; six grandchildren, Derrick Johnston, Adam Mills, Justin Mills, Jessie Mills, Samuel Edward Aistrip, Jena Aistrip; one great-grandchild, Emma Virginia Mills; a sister, Tenia Martin of Pembroke; a sister-in-law, Elsie Sarver Mills; extended family, Cathy P. Mills and Jeffrey L. Aistrop; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday April 6, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with the Rev. Betty Roberts and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow on his own land in Eggleston at the Clarence E. Mills Cemetery.
