Miller, Della Price

Della Price Miller (Grannie), 94, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on August 19, 1911 to the late Simeon Gilbert and Lucy M. Cromer Price, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Miller, Sr.; and a brother, Lee Allen Price.

She was a lifelong member of the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and was a avid supporter of church activities especially the softball team.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth M. and Shirley Echols of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Roy B. “Brownie”, Jr. and Donna Jean Miller of Longshop; two sisters and brother-in-law, Beulah P. Snider of Christiansburg, Louise and Ira Long of Prices Fork; seven grandchildren, Kaye Endahl of Herndon, Va., Betsy McCoy of McCoy, Pat Elliott of Toms Creek, Rosanna Gearheart of Christiansburg, Jody Vance of Fredricksburg, Va., Dale Echols of Blacksburg, Dennis Echols of Newport; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Hinlicky and the Rev. Dale Snider officiating. Interment will follow in the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening and 12 noon till service time at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
