Meredith, Robert Clifton

Robert Clifton (Bob) Meredith, 61, of Narrows ,went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 22, 2006 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on November 11, 1944 and was the son of Clotine Clara Mullins Meredith and the late Ruben Jackson Meredith.

He was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows, having served 25 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and a loyal fan of the late Dale Earnhardt. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Gautier Meredith; one daughter and her husband, Kim and Gary Cooper; and one beloved granddaughter, Amie Cooper, all of Pearisburg; two brothers and their wives, Jim and Tita Meredith of Debary, Florida; John and Judy Meredith of Narrows; two sisters and their husbands, Betty and Joe Posey of Virginia Beach, Trudy and Steve Cooper of Narrows; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
